Building a Stronger District 3: Our Vision for Progress
As your candidate for District 3 County Commissioner, I am dedicated to addressing the critical issues that impact our community and shaping policies that lead to positive, sustainable change. Our vision for progress is centered on building a stronger, more united District 3 that fosters growth, supports its residents, and preserves its unique identity.

Affordable Housing and Homeownership

Problem: Housing affordability is a pressing concern for many District 3 residents. Skyrocketing property prices and rental costs have made it increasingly challenging for families to find stable and secure housing.

1. Small Business Funding: We will work to secure funding and grants to support small and microbusinesses, helping them expand and create more job opportunities for District 3 residents.

2. Public-Private Partnerships: We believe in collaboration. By forging partnerships with private enterprises, we can drive economic development and infrastructure projects that benefit our community.

3.Investment in Technology and Education: Equipping businesses with the tools and resources they need to succeed will bolster their growth and contribute to overall economic development.

Economic Development

Problem: Economic growth and job opportunities are essential for the prosperity of our district. Supporting local businesses and entrepreneurs is crucial to creating a thriving economy.

1. Encourage public sector overinvestment to make up for previous underinvestment.

2. Attempt to hold developers responsible in front of our neighborhood, as we are key constituencies.

3. When proposing a project that needs zoning changes or financial assistance from the city, I will demand that developers first engage with the neighborhood.

4. Improve and expand our green places, like Westmoreland Park, the Hampton pocket park, and the Chalk Hill Trail, as a top priority. defending our neighborhoods against unethical real estate practices

Transportation and Infrastructure

Problem: District 3's transportation infrastructure requires improvements to enhance accessibility, reduce traffic congestion, and support community growth.

1. Sustainable Transportation Solutions: We will prioritize investments in public transportation, biking lanes, and walkable neighborhoods, promoting environmental sustainability while addressing traffic issues.

2. Efficient Road Development: Strategic road development projects will be undertaken, ensuring they are designed to accommodate the evolving needs of our district.

3. Active Community Engagement: We will actively seek input from residents, businesses, and community leaders to ensure transportation solutions reflect the diverse needs of our district.

Environmental Justice and Sustainability

Problem: Our district is home to environmental challenges that demand urgent action to protect our community's health and natural resources.

  • Environmental Task Force: We will establish an Environmental Task Force to monitor, respond to, and remediate environmental issues affecting our district.
  • Renewable Energy Initiatives: Embracing alternative energy sources like solar power will pave the way towards a greener future, reducing our district’s carbon footprint.
  • Community Awareness and Education: We will prioritize community outreach and education on environmental issues, fostering a sense of collective responsibility for a sustainable future.

Education and Youth Development

Problem: Investing in education and empowering our youth is key to creating a strong foundation for our district's future.

  • Teacher Incentives and Support: We will work to retain qualified teachers by providing incentives and support, ensuring they have the resources they need to inspire and educate our youth.
  • Collaborative Education Programs: Fostering partnerships between schools, businesses, and community organizations will enrich educational opportunities for our students.
  • Safe and Inclusive Learning Spaces: Ensuring schools are safe and inclusive environments that celebrate diversity and promote growth for all students.
